The competition to remake the blighted K Street pedestrian mall has drawn a who's who of Sacramento real estate – including a couple of prominent developers who've endured serious setbacks.
Of the four teams submitting redevelopment proposals to city officials, all have experience building residential and commercial projects. Three have track records in the hotel business, and at least one favors opening K Street to car traffic.
