Downtown Sacramento Partnership announced its summer events schedule for Cesar Chavez Plaza, and the partnership is adding more events. Returning is the Friday Night Concerts in the Park, starting May 7 and running 15 weeks.
New this year is a Monday lunchtime concert from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Monday concerts start May 3 and run through Aug. 9. The Friday Night Concerts typically draw crowds of 4,500 and is free for all ages, said Lisa Martinez, director of marketing for the partnership.
This year features more than 50 local bands, including Mumbo Gumbo, The Brodys, Secretions, Kate Gaffney and Rick Estrin & the Nightcats.
